Circuit of Ireland 2010 route

 

 

Route Summary  

Please note this is a brief outline of the route. Prior to the Circuit of Ireland event Roosters M.C.C will organise a meeting in the conference facitity supplied by the Bay hotel at which the route will be disussed in detail and individuals will be issued with summary route cards, also  emergency contact numbers, it is at this briefing that a full discussion will take place on the event as a whole. Indivividuals should familiarise themselves with the route as best as possible prior to the run.    

Day 1  

  • We will meet at Bay hotel, Arklow (Car park) -tea/coffee provided at reception,  09:00 -09:30 Departure time from the hotel will be 10:00am.
  • Arklow, straight to Dungarvan (Waterford Bypass) N11-N30-N25
  • Dungarvan Fuel Stop (1 hr)
  • Leave Dungarvan R672 onto N72 to Fermoy -Mallow-Killarney
  • Killarney -Fuel Stop(1hr)
  • Killarney N22-N21 to Tralee, then join R551 towards Ardfert for Hotel
  • Ballyroe Heights -First overnight stay /Bikes to be refueled before arrival

Day 2

  • Ballyroe Heights -Tralee onto N69 for Tarbert Ferry   (leave hotel at 9:30)
  • N67 to Kilrush -N68-Ennis onto N85 -N18 to Kilcolgin (Lunch stop)     

At this point we have two scenarios : Good Weather /Bad Weather

Good Weather option (Via Westport)

  • Mother Hubbard (Lunch) -N18/N6 into Galway, N84 turn right after cent bridge, or pass through next R/A and exit N59- Westport via Leeaune.
  • Join N5 -Castlebar -N17-Sligo Exit , ColloneyR290
  • Fuel and arrive at Castle Dargan Hotel -Overnight 2

Bad Weather Option (straight to Sligo)

  • Mother Hubbard Lunch stop
  • N18 -N17-N4 exit Colooney roundabout, fuel and arrive at hotel.  

Day 3

  • Ballygawley -R290 to Dromahair
  • R287 -Manorhamilton 
  • N16 through Blacklion towards Enniskillen
  • A4-Maguiresbridge, join A34 -Newtownbuttler
  • Clones-N54 -Monaghan-N2 - M50 Exit 11
  • N81 -Across the Wicklow Gap, group in Laragh
  • Proceed to Arklow (More detail at meeting, Event night kick off 08:30).
  • Meet and greet at Bay hotel , then prep for evening event, help always required contact committee member to offer services.
